About Me

Hi there! I'm a UX/UI designer from Sabah, Malaysia, affectionately referred to as 'The Land Below the Wind.'

I am passionate about discovering user problems and solving them using user-centered design principles. I strongly believe that design should be accessible to everyone, which is why I'm always exploring the possibilities of no-code design to quickly bring ideas to life.

With a background in marketing, I understand the importance of creating designs that not only look visually appealing but also effectively communicate with the target audience. By blending marketing insights with UX/UI design, I can ensure my creations not only meet user needs but also achieve business goals for a successful outcome. 

Now, I'm actively honing my design skills, staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, seeking new challenges, and exploring opportunities in the UX/UI field. Discover my career shift into UX/UI Design...

In 2009, I moved to California for college and graduated with honors in B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing. Throughout my professional journey, I've explored various industries and taken on diverse roles. While consistently fulfilling my responsibilities, I always saw myself proactively identifying user problems and continuously finding better solutions to improve their experiences.

Two key experiences in the U.S. paved the way for my transition into the UX/UI field:

  • In response to the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, the private high school where I worked at needed a rapid shift from on-site to complete online operations. Taking the initiative, I formulated a plan to upgrade and install necessary tools to convert lectures, consultations, and the front office into a comprehensive online platform. By understanding users’ challenges and designing solutions based on those challenges, the overall user experience of administrators, counselors, instructors, students, and parents at the school improved significantly.
  • During my time at Tesla as a Certified Workstation Trainer, I noticed that the production associates I trained on safe assembly processes had varying needs due to differences in their height, body type, strength, and work experience. My innate trait of 'always putting myself in someone’s shoes' prompted me to go the extra mile, tailoring each assembly process to meet their ergonomic ability. This experience showed me firsthand how understanding user needs can make work more enjoyable, safer, and align with the company's goals.

These experiences highlighted the value and power of UX Design, motivating me to enroll in a rigorous 6-month, full-time UX/UI bootcamp program at UX Academy. This decision proved successful, as it led to a rewarding career change and allowed me to finally pursue what I'm truly passionate about.
